Smart Solutions Virtual Inservice: June 29th

Smart Solutions is proud to present a virtual inservice about the benefits of assistive technology on June 29th.

Course Description

Learn more about emerging home automation technologies and how they can help facilitate independent living and provide caregiver support. The training session will outline how Medicaid waiver recipients can leverage funds allocated for assistive technology to create the Smart Home of their dreams.

Learning Outcomes

Medicaid beneficiaries, caregivers, and case managers will be able to:

• Understand how commercially available/off-the-shelf home automation devices are not always accessible for persons with disabilities. Emerging state-of-the-art home automation technologies designed for persons with disabilities can help fix that — assistive technology is not one-size-fits-all!

• Identify the Medicaid waiver code most applicable to waivers, including:

  1. ACT – Alabama Community Transition Waiver

  2. SAIL – State of Alabama Independent Living Waiver

  3. ID/DD – Intellectual/Developmental Disability Waiver

  4. LAH – Living at Home Waiver

  5. Vocational Rehabilitation

• Funding amounts and CAPS associated with each Medicaid waiver provision for technology or home modifications

• How to get started!
